Dr Khulood Alyahya
Lecturer in Computer Science (E&R)
Khulood Alyahya is a lecturer in the Computer Science department at the University of Exeter. Prior to that, she was a research fellow at the same department working on a multidisciplinary project funded by EPSRC to address key challenges in optimisation problems in the field of Computational Systems Biology. She has a PhD degree in Computer Science and an MSc degree in Intelligent Systems Engineering from the University of Birmingham. Her main research focus is optimisation, particularly optimisation with randomised search heuristics. Her research involves developing randomised search heuristics and analysing their performance in different optimisation settings including multi-modal optimisation, optimisation under uncertainty and multi-objective optimisation. She has been co-organising the workshop on Evolutionary Algorithms for Problems with Uncertainty at The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference since 2018. She served as a reviewer in several leading journals and conferences in the field of Evolutionary Computation including Foundations of Genetic Algorithms (FOGA), European Conference on Evolutionary Computation in Combinatorial Optimization (EvoCop), Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO), IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, and Evolutionary Computation journal.
