Dr Zeliang Wang
Lecturer
Computer Science
I am a Lecturer in Computer Science (Education & Scholarship), a Fellow of Advance Higher Education (FHEA), and the Programme Director for the BSc/MSci Computer Science programmes. Prior to this, I worked as a Data Scientist (KTP Associate) on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project aimed at identifying energy savings and improving energy efficiency through intelligent analysis of energy metering data using advanced machine learning and signal processing techniques. I obtained my PhD in signal processing from Cardiff University, and continued as a Postdoctoral Research Associate before joining the University of Exeter.
My research interests primarily focus on machine learning algorithms and tools for solving real-world data science and optimisation problems. As a member of the Education & Scholarship job family, I also have a strong interest in pedagogy research in Computer Science Education to improve the overall student experience.
