Dr Mikiyas Etichia

Dr. Mikiyas Etichia is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Environmental AI at the University of Exeter. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester (2023) and an MSc in Engineering Hydrology from Bahir Dar University (2017). His previous research focuses on the analysis and optimization of integrated water and energy systems using AI-assisted optimization, with a particular emphasis on transboundary river basins in East Africa, South Africa, and Southeast Asia. Mikiyas’ current research focuses on developing an automated environmental model-building and result interpretation tools using AI, aiming to enhance decision-making in resource management.
