About me:
Emma is the Institute for Data Science and AI (IDSAI) Manager (0.5FTE) and the Senior Research Manager for the Business 2030 Research and Impact Workstream (0.5 FTE).
As IDSAI Manager, she leads strategic initiatives to advance the Institute’s vision, providing expert guidance to the Director and management team, and ensuring alignment with University priorities. She facilitates interdisciplinary research, fosters academic engagement, and builds partnerships with key funders and organizations to drive research income. Emma also oversees the Institute’s operations, ensuring the effective delivery of resources, communication, and external visibility.
In her role as Senior Research Manager, Emma works closely with the Associate Dean for Research and Impact (ADRI) to deliver the Business 2030 Research Strategy. She provides leadership in developing interdisciplinary research teams, securing funding, and engaging both internal and external partners. Emma plays a central role in supporting complex institutional funding bids and ensuring that Business 2030’s research and impact plans align with the University’s strategic goals.
Career:
Emma has a background spanning over 8 years in research development and impact within the Higher Education sector. I specialise in research development support to academics at every career stage, across diverse funders, including UKRI, UK Government, and various charitable funders.
