Computer Science

I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Computer Science at the University of Exeter (UoE), UK, and an Honorary Lecturer at University College London (UCL), UK.

I completed my Ph.D. at the University of California, Irvine, USA in 2021 and then joined University College London (UCL), UK as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow.

My research is based on machine learning and deep learning areas with interdisciplinary goals of improving community resilience and sustainability through engineering and environmental intelligence. The work spans a wide array of challenges related to natural and built environments including decision support for complex systems, early warning systems, probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, infrastructural health monitoring, water distribution management, and climate change adaptation strategies. My expertise includes artificial neural networks, time-series analysis, feature engineering, risk and reliability analysis, surrogate modelling, simulations and generative AI, Bayesian modelling, and explainable artificial intelligence.

Currently, I am an Academic Lead for the Environmental Intelligence (EI) network at the University of Exeter, UK. I am also on the editorial boards of three journals: i) International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction (IJDRR), ii) Frontiers in Earth Science, and iii) Smart and Sustainable Built Environment
